Dr. Roxanne Hughes, a visionary leader in the realm of STEM diversity and inclusion, is the Director of the Center for Integrating Research and Learning (CIRL) at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (MagLab). Dr. Hughes' research experience has been instrumental in driving transformative changes. Her primary focus lies in the development of programs and policies aimed at bolstering the recruitment and retention of girls and women in STEM disciplines. Through her research, she has spearheaded initiatives that not only empower women to pursue STEM careers but also ensure their continued success. Beyond her research, Dr. Hughes has played a pivotal role on numerous committees that have shaped policy decisions related to the recruitment and retention of women in STEM fields. Notably, she has been a key figure in the American Physical Society's Committee on the Status of Women in Physics, where her insights and expertise have informed initiatives to create a more inclusive environment for women in the field of physics.
