About FSU ADVANCE

FSU ADVANCE aims to implement systemic change by institutionalizing momentum built over the past several years in increasing recruitment, empowerment, advancement, and inclusive excellence for underrepresented women faculty in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. We aim to intervene with organizational solutions specific to FSU to improve STEM climates for women faculty of all backgrounds and across faculty ranks.

Our key initiatives focus on:

1. Implementing policy initiatives focused on inclusive excellence, coordinated with an ADVANCING SEA Change committee in tandem with unit, college, and institutional leaders.
2. Empowering faculty with mentors, thought cohort networks internal and external to FSU, to counter isolation, improve climate, and promote advancement.
3. Enhancing understanding of intersectional and department-specific issues and opportunities through investigator team-led research and external evaluation, to shape ongoing sustainable implementation of potentially transformative change.
